Walker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Walker is of African-American descent and is a holder of the American passport. Her parents are Harvey Welker a Native American father, and Julie Welker an African-American mother. She has an indigenous father and mother who is African American. Walker completed her studies at Germantown Friends School situated within Philadelphia's Germantown district in 1994. She went to Harvard College, where she obtained a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker is married for over 20 years to John Hughes who is a well known marketing director of Merck Philadelphia. They have two kids. The couple was spotted in 2014 to have an affair. John her husband is more than four years of her life. It was going great, so they decided to keep their friendship going. On the 4th of March, 2017, the couple got married. The wedding was held at the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. They had an enormous wedding at the Hyatt hotel. The only family and friends of the bride were invited to the party.
