Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Before she was able to write or read, she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and started performing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. In the same year, Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. While in high school, she established herself in the community, but her goals were bigger. She moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton composed I Will Always Love You for Wagoner after their breakup. It made it to No. First time, in 1974.
