Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in her character in the romance film The Piano. Paquin moved to New Zealand from Canada as a little girl and grew in the country. After an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who moved into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she was a teenager, she moved into the United States. Paquin was in a brief role in the film's title role when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a lesser part. The actress played teens as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
